Can I be forced to take meds on a cto?

I’m being put on a community treatment order tomorrow tuesday, and I’m thinking of refusing meds on the Wednesday when they want to discharge me. The CQC website says I have the right to refuse meds and I cannot be forced by a doctor. I’m currently on a section 3.

A cto means you can be forced unfortunately

CTO means they can put you in the locked ward if you don’t comply. You can refuse your medication, but not without facing serious consequences.

My understanding of cto rules where I live is that they have the right to detain you on a ward, without applying for another section, if you refuse to take meds. You don’t have to be homocidal/suicidal to be detained.

Now whilst on the ward I am not suRe what powers they have. I heard they can forcible inject you but can’t force you to take oral meds

Here is some more information about CTOs in the UK, including how to fight one if that is what you wish to do.

Here in Oklahoma they can force you to take med’s after you’ve been court committed. Most people don’t do this, but you have the right to ask for a jury trial of six people to decide if you need to be committed. I’ve done that several times, but I never escaped a commitment.
