Can anyone learn to translate?

I’ve applied to do a course in translation. I had the entrance test today. I’m worried my grammar isn’t good enough. A company’s offered me work if I do the course. Hope I’ll be able to do it.

It’s a well paid job. I know a lot of places do student tuition. That is not that well paid, but I heard it is a pretty good life experience.

I am bilingual but i had massive problems to learn both languages. I am not talented to learn new languages. I can’t remember the vocabulary and grammarrules. I had to learn the languages in real life by trial and error.
I use google to translate and define words. Before i had a thesaurus and 2 dictionaries.

I am in love with language. I am in an interpreter training program and it is incredibly rigorous. I have a huge passion for language, as well as the people and culture that are affiliated with it!

Arabic, English, French. In Quebec english and french are required. Arabic is my natal language.
I know a bit of Spanish as I took university and college courses. I know how to write and read Aramaic.

I did some basic education with French. I understand the basics only, but i absolutely loved learning it. When i have more concentration i’d like to continue. I’m self-educating. There is this great site called Duolingal. You can learn so many different languages on that site, and it doesn’t cost you any money to join.

Aramaic is the oldest still used language.
I specifically know the Syriac dialect. Aramaic is ancestral to Hebrew and Syriac.

They teach it to us in my country but I forgot lots of it.

Languages are good. I am mostly bilingual, English and Finnish, but I had to learn Swedish at the school, I also know some Russian., I use Google’s Translator sometimes, mostly to make sure that my spelling is correct. I have never heard about Aramaic, would be interesting to learn some basics. In my physical life I use just Finnish.

Pre-psychosis I used to follow a lot of language classes and speak French, English and Dutch. Now I’m trying to learn Spanish but even online language classes stress me too much. I guess I will have to accept that I won’t Be learning any new languages.

Been accepted on the course.
