Came off abilify

I tapered off from 10mg. For two weeks I only took 5mg and I felt slightly better. More motivated. I also went down from 13 hours to 11 hours of sleep each night.
Now it’s been 6 days since I stopped taking it completely. I feel so-so. No signs of psychosis but if I accidentally go bonkers and say something inappropriate, you have my deepest apologies in advance.
I have my pdoc’s blessings on this. Having been 3 years on APs and no signs of relapse, since my first psychotic break, I felt it was time to give it a shot. I will stay off-meds for at least 4 weeks and if things don’t improve maybe I’ll go back to the 5mg dose since I was feeling sligtly better on it.

Wish me luck guys. Also keep an eye on what I post and press the :red_circle: if something feels off. Thanks.

Good luck, I hope you are recovered and this change works out for you.

I can’t consider myself recovered cause I still struggle with negative symptoms but meds haven’t helped me much in that respect…

I take a bunch of supplements for negative symptoms and they all seem to help a little bit but yeah I think I struggle with negative symptoms too. Unless it is some sort of selfdefeatest belief where I think I have negative symptoms and get depressed about it and then my behavior mirrors negative symptoms.

Are you waiting for min 101? Im hoping that drug will help me when it comes out, if I can get my doc to put me on it.

Yes I am looking forward to min-101. Might be the miracle drug for many people including me.

I am interested to see if the negatives improve off meds because I am starting to think some of my meds contribute to the negatives

I’ll keep everyone posted. My hopes are slim but we’ll see.

Good luck! I hope it works out for you. Be especially mindful of the 8 week mark. That’s when the last of the meds will leave your system.

Thanks ninjastar. I will be careful with capital C.

l-methylfolate (deplin) really helped me with negative symptoms somewhat. Check it out, it might be of some benefit.
