To coffee or not to coffee? This gem stumbled upon my way and was the piece of evidence I needed to make an informed decision to cut out all caffeine. I would have never thought to give up caffeine because I used it to ameliorate the APs sedation. I honestly feel so much better and it has been a game changer for me so thought I would share! :))
I don’t drink coffee or tea at home
It’s too hard to read. Can you summarize it?
I went off caffeine for over half a year because of my doctor’s urging. Didn’t notice any difference with the SZ. No noticeable improvement. Just that it made me completely miserable.
I drink a cup or two every morning. It doesnt do anything to my schizophrenia but it does increase my anxiety.
I drink four cups a day. Don’t notice any difference just that if I get in my sunrise cup im more awake at 10am. If I skip sunrise cup I feel sleepy all morning.
I drink coffee everyday. Sometimes only one cup.
Coffee messes me up but I can’t tell which part is being messed up.
@Winterpool - Welcome to the forum!
I drink caffeine every day.
I almost always have a cup of coffee. Either hot, black, dark roast coffee, or black cold brew made from a different dark roast coffee.
Sometimes I have a caffeinated Zevia soda, too, in the evening. Or I brew some lavender grey tea (lavender flowers and black tea), which is caffeinated.
The only thing ive noticed is when im manic it makes it worse.
Welcome @Winterpool
I drink 6-8 cups a day, started due to sedation effects of previous meds.
I am a caffeine junkie
I can’t start my day without coffee or soda
I also like caffeine pills
I also like mood stabilizers and herbal tea like blue lotus and butterfly pea
All of which is a great herbal and natural remedy worth trying
It’s like 45 minutes to take a break from voices, it literally temporarily silences them
I drink tea mostly everyday but on the weekends I’ll drink a java monster while I go on a long road trip
@MIDO A1R and A2aR have differential effects. Coffee can definitely trigger psychosis either through dopamine and or via the adenosine pathway. Caffeine can trigger delayed onset paranoia in myself however, I have come to realise that it is the dose that makes the poison. You would have to experiment with the dosage to know what you can and can’t handle. Caffeine tablets and tablet cutters and or power and scales would be useful if you have a negative reaction to a strong coffee. All that said, caffeine is useful as a stimulant and is not a game changer for weight.
oh I think coffee is good for you. I’ve read several things about coffee and caffeine being good for you…can’t remember why though…anyways…I drink coffee all day and late at night…like now for instance.
