Does caffeine consumption interfere with meds? APs or ADs?
@roxanna I remember you saying you were cutting down on caffeine because it was interacting with your meds; I could be mistaken.

Yes it interacts with some antipsychotics.

I read somewhere that L-theanine interacts well with caffeine. I just started taking L-theanine. I’ll let you know how it affects me.

Yes caffeine can affect you if your on APs, I avoid caffeine i had 2 cups of mountain dew a few years ago and i was up all night.
Does anyone know how caffeine affects Risperidone? I drink a lot of coffee and sodas.
I know it’s no good for me, but my husband is out getting me a Monster right now. I anticipate needing one before church tomorrow so I can stay awake during the service. I have a hard time staying awake that early, and it might help. I have fallen asleep there before (in a very small group setting) and was even snoring. My husband kept having to nudge me awake. I know everyone noticed because the class was so small. Talk about embarrassing!
Sorry- I got off topic. Point is, I indulge from time to time when I need to stay awake in the morning.

Caffeine can increase blood levels when taken with Clozapine or Olanzapine.
I have never had a doctor tell me that caffiene would react with my AP. I was on Rispiradone now on Abilify.
I love coffee.

@gravitywave 151515 is when you need more characters to enter your response to a question. Most people use 151515 or some other number when they have a short response. I hope that makes sense.

Does anyone know if caffeine affects Saphris?
@Loke I care! It was during a small group class with just a handful of people in it.
When I was seven I drank a sixteen ounce cola at about 7:00 pm, and I had a very hard time falling asleep that night. I’ve had insomnia ever since.
I have no idea how caffeine affects saphris. Saphris made me very stoic. Of course it affects ppl differently.

I drink decaf coffee even though it has a little caffeine. Tea once in a while. Caffeine does interfere with my meds.
I’ve noticed stoicism as well. I don’t laugh as often as I used to. I used to have a very bubbly, upbeat personality, and Saphris has really taken that away from me.
