I was wondering if I should start brushing my cats teeth?
I’ve never tried it and to be honest I’m a little nervous trying it.
Should I have the Vet clean her teeth once a year maybe?
The only problem with this is they will need to sedate her.
Any advice would be deeply appreciated
I want her healthy
They can have bad dental problems at an older age it happened to my cat and he was too old to be put to sleep for the dental surgery

My cat is 2 years old is it necessary that I start brushing her teeth at this young age?
I try to brush my dogs teeth but forget a lot.
I started early when he was a few months old and he does not hate it.
But i need to do it more.
My 17 yo had so many dental problems and no longer can have extractions but we are pretty sure he is not in pain with whatever he has left. He has a dental fistula that healed.
I’m planning on trying to brush my cats teeth. I just hope they’ll be amenable to it lol
Never have trued it. My cats eat dry food mostly, so their teeth stay clean.
There are treats you can buy that clean out the inside of their mouths, so you don’t need to brush them.
This is just one brand.
Yeah my cat mainly eats dry food as well.

Yesterday he decided the yoga mat was the place to be as my daughter tried doing stretches.

Aww cute! Our cat likes to lay on our backs when we do yoga. It really helps us remember to do slow, controlled movements.
I’ve never brushed a cat’s teeth, but I’ve admittedly never had a cat it’s whole life. My sister has a 21 year old cat, and she doesn’t brush her teeth. No dental problems, either. Her late kitty had dental issues before he was 10, though, and he had to have a lot of teeth pulled.

Im not sure at that age but there are also dental treats you can buy at wal mart

Charles would not let me get away with brushing his teeth. He is a dry food cat save for his morning pouch of temptations.
I had a cat put under sedation to have his teeth cleaned and they warned me he might die. I don’t think a cat would let his teeth be cleaned awake. If you can do it it doesn’t need to done but a few times a lifetime is my guess. A dog has his bones to naw on.
