Brothers Johnson

Listening to some good 1977 disco with Louis Johnson on bass. Something I bought. Gotta be available also on YouTube for free. I chose to buy just because I used to play pro music and it’s hard to make $ at it. I thought lounge music would be good here. Okay – it’s cheesy, too. Fun stuff with some serious bass chops!

That was Aussie. I had to play those brothers, too. Maurice is said to have played on some Bee Gees. Louis is tough to emulate if you’re not a thumper. Bernard was easiest for me.

In the late '90s, I played bass guitar in a disco band called Satin Love Orchestra. I lasted 18 mos only. The band of seven other musicians all knew I had schizophrenia, lived with my parents at the age of 30, and got Social Security. Things got really ugly for me because of these conditions. I saw the worst in human nature during that time. I saw it again when I worked a day job in a psych rehab agency seven years later.

So okay, keeping it positive: lately I’ve joined a church, where I participate in lots of music, including choir. I’ve met some really devout folks, some of whom have disabilities, etc. Our Redeemer Lutheran Church is quite an amazing bunch of people. I am learning a new kind of logic. There appears to be a higher plane of spiritual laws I’d been previously unaware of, particularly the Law of Attraction (i.e. like attracts like). I’m sure this is old news to most people in my boat.

Wish me luck this week as I begin cleaning this house I inherited. By cleaning, I mean spiritually, too.

Best wishes to all!

Robert

Thanks a lot. I’ve had some really good quality sleep tonight. That helps, too.

How is it possible for people to read so fast? I’m a tortoise at it – which could also be a good thing, hopefully. Aesop is the name of my dog, BTW. I love Aesop’s Fables.
