In the UK we say chips in America you say Fries

In the UK we say dustbin or bin in America you say garbage can ?

I like how glacier is pronounced completely differently in British English.
I also like how you say chemist instead of pharmacy.
In Scandinavia we call them “apotek”.

I think it’s funny how Americans say Garage. It sounds really posh and like a stereotype of a British way of saying something. It’s weird.

Apotheke in German

Apothecary in English is a synonym for pharmacy that isn’t used much, at least not in the US.

To lower the tone…f*g (cigarette) and fanny have very different meanings across the pond.

In South Africa we say boot and bonnet instead of trunk and hood.
And a robot is a traffic light (but I think that one’s SA only not UK)
Oh yes and a nappy is a diaper
And a tap is a faucet.
