Bringing family member to pdoc appointment

Do you think it’s weird to take a family member to a pdoc appointment?

I don’t know if it’s weird for an adult but I’m a teenager and I don’t think it’s really weird. I think that as long as you’re comfortable it’s fine.

If it helps then keep doing it.

My wife and I go together all the time. We both see the doc at the same time.

No it’s not weird.
When I wasn’t doing as well, my father used to go with me.

It’s a matter of personal preference.

No, it’s not weird. Sometimes I need the extra support, or else I wouldn’t go to my appointments. My boyfriend or my mum go with me.

My pdoc likes it because he will also ask them how I’m doing and they can confirm certain things for me. It makes me feel more comfortable then being alone.

Not weird at all. I’ve considered bringing my boyfriend to my appointments to help explain what’s going on with me because I feel like they’re not listening to me when it’s just me saying it.

It’s totally fine to bring a family member along it’s good to have some support! Just try to make sure that whoever you bring along doesn’t drown out your comments questions or concerns

I used to take my wife into psydoc appointments. If the doc or I wanted to talk privately we’d do that then invite her in. I had an hour when I lived in the states. These days I get like ten minutes so I don’t think it would be worth it. I don’t see a problem with it as long as your doc is on the money with things!
