Breakthrough Psychotic Symptoms - Hearing Sirens?

This isn’t super common but I’ve noticed that when I haven’t gotten much sleep I’ll hear sirens. When this first happened I wondered what kind of emergency was happening to cause these “sirens” to go off continuously but of course I never saw anything. This isn’t really a scary symptom anymore but it’s annoying when I’m trying to concentrate on literally anything else. I’m on 3 mg of risperidone, time to talk to my doctor about a med change maybe? Or is this kind of thing normal even when you’re on a good med? Thanks for reading!

I heard that this could be due to tinnitus. I hear a beep sometimes and my doctor said it’s not hallucination but tinnitus. I’m just really stressed, that’s all. My brother has it too.

Regardless, it’s really annoying and I often hate it. My brother absolutely hates it as well.

You could just need an increase, not necessarily a change

I heard sirens after 2 days of tornado warnings, which began with deadly day of ones which came close to hitting my brother’s house, in less than a week when they weren’t occurring but that was just due to the trauma of it all and was brief. I was still enough in love with severe weather that I thought his description of watching it demolish the local power lines while standing there with a beer can in his hand was kinda cool at the time but the repetition of warnings and the obituary page in the newspaper was beginning to make me rethink it all.
