Brain Scan

Hi just wanted to update you that I will be having a brain scan in the next few weeks. I had a small fall today, with the dizziness and my GP referred me for a scan. He also checked my blood pressure and it’s still high so he increased my blood pressure tablet.

I’m having a lot of issues with my head. It feels full, and I’m woozy a lot. I feel light headed.

I know I have about 13 small lesions in my right frontal lobe. I dont know if it’s my blood pressure or the somataform disorder. It’s all frustrating not being able to function properly.

My gp did a neurological examination today and I was stumbling and unbalanced. If my illness is all psychiatric I dont understand the wooziness part. I cant even do simple things.

Some days I think I have MS, other days I think I have schizophrenia. Is there any connection I wonder with the frontal lobe and schizophrenia? I think I read somewhere way back that there could be, but that’s not to say that’s proven medically.

I’m just trying to find out what’s wrong with me, so I have read about MS and schizophrenia. I have been diagnosed with neither, and I’m under a big umbrella where somataform disorder is concerned. It has so many symptoms of it’s own!

Anyway just thought I would update you nice people.

Good luck with the scan, hopefully it tells them something.

I have a head injury in my front left lobe. Maybe there is something to the article you mentioned

Hi that’s weird that you have lesions on your brain. Do you know what they were caused from ?

Hi, apparently the lesions I have are very common! Can be seen in smokers, MS, small vessel disease and in none of the ones I mentioned. So a person who doesn’t smoke etc… can have these lesions, or small white dots as well.

Neurologists told me mine are non specific so I was discharged from neurology. Yet I have this awful woozy head and they say, it’s not the lesions that’s causing my symptoms, so where does one go from there?

I smoke, so maybe that’s why. I dont know. But my symptoms are MS type symptoms one neurologist said, but my scans dont match my symptoms. It’s all frustrating and confusing.

Will see if there is any changes on my next scan. Probably wont be any change. Until something changes, neurology wont be diagnosing me with any neurological disorder.

Thanks for your question.

This sounds like ataxia to me. I have balance problems as well and my doctor said it’s definitely ataxia.

I hope you will get the answers that you need.

Hi it could be ataxia but until something changes on my scans, the neurologists I have seen here will not diagnose me with any neurological disorder unfortunately.

I saw several neurologists and they all said I dont have MS or any other neurological disease… so I’m left with my symptoms.

For now by all accounts my illness is psychiatric and somataform disorder is my diagnosis.

Thanks for your thoughts and I hope you are doing well.
