Bought a dvd!

So yes. I bought a dvd. We don’t have a dvd player except for my computer as I stream most things these days. Still. Bloody dvd drive on the computer…the final dvd player I have in the household has died on me…so…

To watch said dvd I had to buy a new dvd player…like $40 total and I’m watching my dvd…I remember when dvd players were a couple of hundred dollars…gotta love the modern world!

They had a Hitchcock Festival on tv not too long ago. They showed “The Birds” my favorite, Strangers on a Train, Vertigo, North by Northwest, and I think “The Rear Window”. They have some Hitchcock movies online, but most of them are in black and white and have poor film quality. I got “Rope” in full color, online. It’s good.

Yes @crimby…I’ve seen the Birds, Vertigo and Rear Window but need to see the rest. My ex got me onto it so I’m going to watch them all. It’s a weird world with streaming but I’ve noticed a lot of the classics are still rentals…you can buy a hard copy cheaper…Thanks for the headsup. I think the dvds will be cool…!

I have a collection of about 600 dvd’s. Many are movies I can come back to because I like them a lot, but I expect I’m going to give some of it away soon. I got a hitchcock boxset with about 12 movies at a baragain. You can get dvd’s to very reasonable prices these days. I think it’s worth it for the cinematic quality and the stuff on netflix is probably not even 1% of what is out there. A lot of stuff dvd is the only option to see it.

I just bought a TV set with a built-in DVD player maybe six months ago. I just got cable WiFi this summer. It came with a streaming device but I don’t use it. I finally just figured out how to turn it on though.
