Blurry vision from my medication

I’m noticing that I’ve been getting blurry vision lately.
I thought I was going blind and was blaming some sort of eye disease or diabetes until I realized that I upped my dose of Lamictal lately.

I looked it up and found out that Lamictal can cause blurry vision.
It’s a common side effect.

I was driving today to the supermarket and could hardly see!

I don’t want to have my dose lowered because it’s keeping me in a productive hypomanic state.

Hopefully this side effect will get better as I adjust to the increased dose.

I had that happen. My eye doctor said I had astigmatism on top of it, so I got glasses. Now I need bifocals.

I used to get blurry vision from Invega. This side effect disappeared when I made a switch from Invega to Amisulpride.

I got glasses after taking meds for 2-3 years. Blurry vision.

Changing meds didn’t seem to help much.

My vision changed while on Zyprexa. I became near sighted and got glasses. My glasses broke I can survive without glasses.

My vision gets blurry when I start to get psychotic. It isn’t constant though but it’s a good warning sign.

That’s very interesting. I wonder if there’s any research showing that in others

My vision has become a little blurrier ever since switching from Consta shots to oral risperidone. And my glasses are new and supposedly 20/20.

Are you sure it’s not your mood disorder making you manic? It’s more likely that. Lamactil acts as a mood stabilizer not a destabilizer.

No I’m sure that it’s the Lamictal.
It acts like an antidepressant for some people afflicted with bipolar disorder and it can trigger mania.
It’s a known side effect.
My doctor acknowledges this @SkinnyMe

@Wave, there was a study about lamictal influence on beagles (dogs)…
They confirmed all dogs had eye problems on it.
I take 200mg for 12years,I had no problems, but think you should change sth.
