Does anyone, or has anyone, been affected by blurred vision or worsened eyesight. I tried to put on my prescription glasses but that made it even worse. So either, my eyesight is worse, or I’m on a medication that blurs it. Here is a list of medications I take:
Caplyta 42 mg
Haldol 60 mg
Risperidone 4mg
Cogentin 1-2 mg
Hydroxyzine - 200 mg
Prozac - 80 mg
Lithium - 1,200 mg
I thought the maximum dose of Haloperidol was 10 - 15 mg! Do you really take 60 mg? I’m on a low dose at the moment, but I’ve had blurred vision on higher doses.

I’ve had blurred vision didn’t relate it to meds though.
Yeah, the maximum for the haldol is actually like 100 mg for the oral dosage. I am on too much tho.

Haldol caused me blurry vision
Lithium gave me nystagmus. So im off that one. Didnt help much for me anyway. The nystagmus went away after about 2 weeks being off it.
That doesn’t sound like fun
Yeah, I’m seeing my psychiatrist tomorrow so we’ll see what he says.
I’m also worried that I may get macular degeneration like my grandma. I just hope it doesn’t happen any time soon.
Think it was from spending loads of time indoors on screens. Cus it comes and goes.

My dad told me that you start to loose your focus at 40 so maybe age is a factor.
i got blurry vision since the first day i started benztropine (cogentin). it is a well known side effect of it. i stopped taking it like a a couple weeks ago, some improvements
Yeah I think it’s the cogentin, too, thank you for saying how long it’ll take. I was worried that it would be permeant. Unfortunately, tho, I have to take it due to tremors and stuff muscles.
I had vision problems on just one AP. Started to get a lazy eye. The eye was weak from lack of proper medication. Guess I was slipping into unconsciousness.
I had to wear glasses at one time because my vision decreased. I think APs can cause or worsen detachment or dissociation. It doesn’t bother me anymore, and sometimes it’s good to detach a little bit so life or reality isn’t so intense and overwhelming.
yep. when i was on 60mg haldol a day with risperdal shot my vision got so bad i couldnt read at all. i needed bifocals at like 23. when i went off them my vision went back to normal.
