I really suffered on vacation with my piles a couple of days because I drank too many '‘beverages’ and had a Turkish meaty mega mixed grill. Next day was terrible. I hadn’t experienced many problems for some months as I had been sticking to a high fibre diet and eating fruits and veg as well as shredded wheat with milk On vacation I had a lot of meat and ‘‘beverages’’. Plus strong coffee everyday. I’m going to read up pn more healthy eating here at home and maybe cut out the coffee which will be very hard. Any tips how I can do this?
Set up a quit date, but quit a few days before then… I quit smoking after 20 years that way… maybe you and I are similar in someways @bobbilly

Cutting out the read meat and upping the fibre will do 90% of it for you.

It was probably the spice in the foods
Sometimes the foods you love aren’t worth the health issues they cause. I passed up some pizza for lunch in favour of a bowl of steel cut oatmeal. The pizza will give me painful digestive issues. The oatmeal will not. 5 hours of severe discomfort for 5 minutes of pleasure (if that) is a poor value proposition.
