Best medication for reducing voices?

What has worked best for you? And whats your cost per month (if you know) ?

Which works the best with the least side effects? I know it varies for each person.

If you could be semi ok without meds, would you take nothing or are you still better off taking something?

also, Have you found anything non-prescription that works – diet, vitamins, amino acids, other ?

Unfortunately the most effective, tried and true antipsychotics are the ones with the most side effects.
Risperdal
Zyprexa
Seroquel/XR
Invega
Haldol
Trilafon/Perphenazine
Other Typicals Etc…

You can certainly try Latuda - Abilify - Geodon - Saphris - Fanapt, but they are usually not as effective against psychosis - But everyone reacts differently to these meds

i take seroquel and geodon. It kinda works, though not really… I probably need different meds…

I’ve noticed anxiety makes voices worse. Sometimes I take Diazepam or Oxazepam to cut the anxiety. Then my voices become nicer and lower in volume.

Flupentixol made my head deadly quiet. In the beginning. My head has never been as quiet. I only had my own thoughts. But I got psychotic again and changed to Abilify and Seroquel.

You can tinker with them all you like, but they are only so effective.

My Dr offered my a more sedative drug then Zyprexa called Clozoril, but I have needle phobia so can’t do the weekly blood tests it requires to begin with.

If you can stick with what your on!

Back on topic, Zyprexa has worked the best of the 4 different anti psychotics I’ve been on and as we have the NHS and I’m not employed I get it for free otherwise it would be £8 a month in prescription charge.

I also hit my system with moderate doses of vitamin B, zinc and omega 3 fish oil. I sometimes drink speciality teas and I think some make me feel better or worse the best iv’e tried is ginger and lemon tea, which Is partially helping me loose weight.
