Been planning on getting a series x and want a good COD to play with it. What are your suggestions? (Previous generations accepted as well)

I havent really got that into cod since the early 2000’s days. Call of duty 2 on 360 was insanely cool. I dont really play online games so thats why im not into them these days. But i fully get it. If i was to get into a newer one it would be one set in ww2. Im not into the more modern style warfare themes. I got through some of the campain of cod vanguard. Was sick. I like that you play as different nations not just the US. English, russian, australian etc.
I have a series x. Pretty good. I love how a lot of the backwards compatible games get picture quality and frame rate boosts on it.
Modern warfare 3 has open world zombies
Very good fun
New black ops is going straight onto game pass soon

Not played any other game mode than zombies
People like to tear things down

Better than Battlefield now. On Battlefield unless you make in game purchases you just can’t compete with those who do

If you get game pass you don’t have to buy it. So if it’s not for you there’s loads of options and you wouldn’t have wasted any money
They suck now, it’s Nikki Minaj, a Clown, and Ghostface shooting Neon Purple Electric Paintballs at each other. It’s not Call of Duty anymore.
The last good one was Black Ops 2, before monetisation. It’s not worth playing now cuz it’s full of people using hacks. The method of hacking is super easy and just involves replay mode.
Is it paintball mode like on Goldeneye on the N64?

I’m referring to these cosmetic packs that change the way your bullets look. Some of them make them into paintballs, some make them electricity zaps. I guess it’s kind of like GoldenEye. That game was really fun.
My main complaint though is that it makes the game feel less like war.

Cod MW3 rules. BO3 is good as well. Also you can try Ghosts.
I’ve played all the modern warfare and some black ops call of duty games in addition to all the early ones. Black ops 6 is coming day one to Gamepass, so I’ll probably play that when I’m drops later this month. It’s not the same with not playing with the boys, and like no one bought mw3 remake, so I only played a little of that.
CoD WW2 is good on playstation.
My favorite cod was the original mw2 for ps3. I’ve played a few of them, the last being modern warfare. Idk if I’m getting old, but I got sick of it. I don’t have any recommendations. I’m gonna be getting bo6 though.
The 360 ones - cod4 MW, MW2, and MW3. Black Ops 1 and 2 as well.
The current ones are ridiculous with costumes and microtransactions, but still fun.
I’m glad Black Ops 6 is on game pass. Though I didn’t like BO4 or 5.

You could get any of them, they all have a small playerbase. If you want Modern Warfare I’d check out “Modern Warfare Remastered” it was released alongside one of the main games, and is a faithful recreation of CoD 4.
Call of duty two was like a war simulator at the time
