And that is ‘In My Life’
My favorite is “She’s Leaving Home”.not most peoples’ pick
All Sgt pepper babe
I’m not a big Beatles fan, but I like Helter Skelter.
I like Something by George Harrison & Till there was you.
Eleanor Rigby also.
I have to go with Yesterday
Fool on the Hill …(Magical Mystery Tour)…
I agree with you, let it be is great.
Hmm best cover of a Beatles song.
Abbey Road Medley.
If that counts as more than one song, A Day in the Life.
My favorite Beatles songs are “Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da,” “Let It Be,” and “And I Love Her.”
Great song, it makes me feel sad every time I hear it.
Lets make some prank calls to Charles Manson in Chino.
I used to listen to the Beatles almost every day for awhile. My favorite song changed all the time.
Off the top of my head, “While My Guitar Gently Weeps”.
Or
"Ballad of John and Yoko". But it could change tomorrow.
For fanatical Beatles addicts like me, we are looking at everybody elses choices and thinking, "Wow, that’s a weird choice, lol"
And actually, “In My life” is one of the rare songs of the Beatles that I don’t care for. I’m not criticizing that choice, it’s just my opinion.
But who am I to judge? A song I used to listen to over and over again for months was “Anna”. Go figure. I don’t know why I liked it so much and probably very few people have heard of it.
As a beatlemaniac can you shed light on my pet theory. I think the song ‘Baby you can drive my car’ was originally intended as ‘Baby you can suck my ****’. Totally fits into the theme of the song.
By rubber soul they were certainly skirting on the edges of the risky stuff. Your thoughts?
I think you’re basically correct. “Rubber Soul” showed they were maturing and evolving as artists and moving past their “Mop Top” personas of the early years. I had a friend a long time ago who was as big a fan as me. He called their early years as a group the, “Yeah-Yeah years”. When their songs lyrics were " She Loves Me", or “I love Her” or “She Loves Him” or “Please Love Me” etc. Just basic stuff for teeny-boppers, nothing deep.
But “Rubber Soul” showed them all being more introspective, a little more serious and artistic. IDK. “Rubber Soul” has been analyzed by countless critics and Beatles music aficionados. I can’t really add much except to say that I’ve listened to the album a million times already and I would listen to it again tonight if I could.
