"Believing the best about people" does NOT equal "step on me"!

I’m getting kind of fed up.

People in my life seem to be under the impression that my helpful demeanor and me believing the best about people and their intentions, means “step on me, I am trash”.
I know by now I most likely have “doormat” written on my forehead, and that I bring it upon myself, but still.

I was raised to be friendly and trusting, and I don’t feel the universe should punish me so severely for that.
I know someone being a bit naive makes people want to take advantage of them, but geez, there’s gotta be some sort of limit to how much bullshite can be thrown at one person per day??
