I really try to keep positive and reframe setbacks in a positive way. It has been helpful overall. The positivity does need to be grounded in realism. The key word is “too”. Being positive is OK in many situations.
I hated working in retail. I was never smiling enough and customers found me rude cos I wasn’t usually bubbly.
I’m a naturally positive person and I don’t find that in anyway toxic. I do tend to give people the benefit of the doubt though and see the positives in them which often backfires but I’m a glass half full kinda person. It helps for sure. I like living.
