Back after a hiatus

Hi¬ Me again! (People shake their heads  )

I’m doing ok. No great story to tell here.

I tried selling my recording equipment after suffering a period of avolition but peopl offered me silly prices, so I unlisted it and left it idle for awhile.I did sell my old keyboard at a loss, but made a profit on my midi oxygen.

I have recently got motivated again and upgraded my midi to accommodate piano learning and making improved tunes. I found a bargain on amazon warehouse and although it said the condition was acceptable with marks; I can’t find any marks on it!

It was returned without the software and original packaging but what was a £492 new midi I got for £330. I didn’t need the software as I have Fl21 studio on my laptop already.
It is in mint condition and I am just waitng for a piano stand to be delivered to get back to piano learning and tune making again.

I find that using AI bing to address the functioning of the DAW is a much better method to get to grips with the player and it has addressed a few issues I was having before I gave up previously.

I also got a free month of amazon prime with the purchase and have been watching ‘Night Sky’ which a sci-fi show that goes at a slow pace. It is excellent and worth a recommendation.

Meds the same and life is the same, so no worries there. My wrist is still bust so can’t do my yoga or press ups. Maybe healed by Xmas, I hope.

Hope you are all well?

Looking forward to making some new tunes

I am glad to hear you kept most of your equipment. It’s sad to not have musical toys. Was it an Oxygen 61? I still have my AxiomPro 61 and love it:

Oh, @labratmat - you may want to catch up in the Meta category. I think there were a few changes while you were having a break.

It was the m audio oxygen 49 mach3 or something.

Now I have an M audio Hammer 88 Pro which has hammer action keys for piano playing. I hated the keys on the oxygen!

It is an excellent build quality and weight!

Oh nice, that’s one of their stage pianos. They are built like a brick u-know-what. I have the M-Audio Prokeys 88 as my main keyboard:

Edit: I am kind of a ho for M-Audio kit.

Yeah me too.

My speakers BX5 D3s, and the audio interface are both m audio.

Comparatively small outlay for high quality stuff!

I just bought an 8" Edifier powered sub-woofer for the man cave. I have some of their powered speakers and the sound is amazing for the price. Well, had. My wife bootlegged them and now they are on her desk. Definitely look at Edifier as well if you like top-shelf sound at a reasonable price.

I am not going to be in any hurry like I felt I was before though.

I have been using ‘simply piano’ and flowkey. I am going to use ‘Skoove’ next.

I am paying for it by giving up spotify!

If your keyboard has a midi output then you can easily learn without a teacher and it is cheaper than getting one. (probably not as good though)

Thanks, I’m hoping to learn at some point, i think i need some help from a charity though. My keyboard has midi out, i have a big one and a small one

No time like the present! you have a laptop and a keyboard and a piano teaching app like skoove costs £10.60 per month if you buy it for a year!

Thanks man!

Looking forward to some more tune making!

I had a port open on an unnecessary ‘mapper’ midi which had been causing me problems in FL 21 Studio. It kept repeating a note that I hadn’t inputted and was screwing up everything. Bing AI sorted it out for me! rookie error! Problem solved now and hoping it will make everything easier in the future.
