Asking socialable or talkative people

My hobby is probably mental illness,working out and football.I don’t really enjoy my job so I don’t talk much about it…

I find carefully listening then speaking my opinion. If I someone personally, I feel it is easier to speak with them. Also when friendly people i’ve met clown on me, well let’s just say… I’m a meanie. :laughing:

Talk about football and working out! Maybe music and movies? Books? Philosophy? Religion?

Yeah I wouldn’t talk very much about schizophrenia maybe just mention it if it comes up.

Hmm with random strangers I don’t talk about mental health at all. I stay on safe topics.

With people who I know have a diagnosis of some sort - I’m in several activities clubs from past day centres - it’s different, those meetings are an opportunity to shoot the breeze about our collective states of mind.

I am really hoping one day I can be funny,fun loving and also destructive : P

It helps to be nice to people working in grocery stores. Usually nice often unappreciated people.

I think I am very negative at grocery store,I said hi always,but the tone is not very positive…

I think that people dislike me sometimes…it’s a negative attitude I need to change quickly

I think it’s not that i am not nice,I feel I am too weak and not aggressive…I need to be more confident…

One way that may help is look at one of the martial arts. It’s a discipline so will help with your illness. It will help build self esteem but also help you feel more self assertive. Which will help with social skills in the long run. Bound to help;with your soccer also.

Picture someone you feel is confident maybe an actor . And then just copy them and act confident. It will feel weird but after a while it will become more natural. Confidence is also an internal thing

serious??I would love to try this,i had someone on TV I would like to act similiary,although it will be very different from the current me lol

Absolutely, I’ve tried the fake it until you make it technique of self confidence (I was doing quite a bit of dating at the time). It definitely helps.

Some times it’s the only way I can get through… I felt like a fake… but I managed to do what I needed to do.

I admit sometimes… I tend to float out of my body when I’m doing the fake it till I make it… I don’t feel like I’m in control of myself at all… I’m watching someone who looks like me… doing something I would never do…

But at least what needs to happen gets done.

Good luck and give yourself some patience and credit… you’ve been going out and meeting people… you’ve been going to groups… that’s a huge life change for you.
