Anyhoo, we get a lot of thunderstorms here, but not tornado warnings. Maybe once or twice a year. Then we all pile into our pantry (it’s huge). I spend the time watching the clock and worrying about the dogs (they don’t fit in the pantry with four people camped out). When I lived in West Virginia, we once had a tornado hit one street over and flatten at least every other building. Since then, I always take the warnings seriously. Driving down that road after the storm, seeing the destruction and how close it was- man, that was something.
I know most people don’t want to reveal where they live so I won’t ask, but I really hope it’s not in tornado country. I’m in Virginia, I grew up with drills but there’s never been one here my whole life. We had a small earthquake that damaged the Washington Monument many years ago, that was about it.
