Aripiprazole

A question for men taking aripiprazole. Do you have sex drive? If not - are you sure its caused by the AP?

For me I think it’s due to age and thinking out of things. No interest

I’m on aripiprazole/Abilify and I definitely still have a sex drive

Edit- oh and I’m 20mg if that matters

My sex drive is minimal or non existent.

It’s sort of indirectly due to abilify but mostly other things.

I don’t know whether or not its the abilify, but for me its non existent.

I have high sex drive no matter what I take anymore, abilify, vraylar, seroquel even. Idk.

Mine is fine, im on it. 400mg injection.

I’m on 10mg and my sex drive is feeling the “heat”, ironically huh? I mean, my libido has gotten weak.

Dunno if abilify is to blame.

I was on abilify for a months and it had those negative effects. Now on Zyprexa and back to normal again.

I’ve never noticed a change in my libido on any of the meds I have been on in the last 9 years. I am 55 and even though I am asexual, I am still self-sexual, lol. I am planning to ask my endocrinologist (I have a thyroid disorder) if she can prescribe something for my libido. It’s dropped since menopause.

I am also on a 400mg injection of Aripiprazole every 4 weeks similar to @MisterApple and hope to bring a baby into this world after I get married this Summer. Never tried the pill version of Aripiprazole.

what is the difference between the pills and injections in terms of efficacy/side effects?

I take 30 mgs pills.

According to 2 studies abilify injection has less weight gain but more akathisa
