I had to register when I was 18 in 1979.
It was mostly his problem. He had plenty of distractions at school. And a philosophical sense of humor. He really wasnât the army type, so itâs good he didnât get picked.
I completed my mandatory military service in Finland and then when I was so young in America I had to register to this Selective Service System after which I received a letter from some people if I wanted to be a part of some Intelnet and I suppose I mailed it back. This all was 22 years ago.
My psychiatrist had served in WW II, and he very much wanted to help the military. But he thought the way he could help them the most was by telling them very sincerely that they didnât want me!
