Thanks BrianTex. I doubted the SzA diagnosis until my depressive swings went away on Abilify. Now I believe the diagnosis.

I was previously diagnosed with psychotic depression, but then diagnosed with bipolar disorder type 2 in 2018. I just stay here because I don’t know any other forums to go to. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

My pdoc told me I had psychosis when I asked her. That’s all she told me. She didn’t go into detail. It’s been 2 years since I am medicated and I still occasionally hear voices.

I never knew what is the keyword for Sz’‘a’’, but i got diagnose with Schizophrenia at 17, my symptoms were mostly paranoia, my paranoia made me curious about the voice so i kept on being delusional.

Dx is Bipolar One , with psychosis.
Although Ive had several months of psychosis without any mood issue.
pdoc says I am too high functioning for sza

The first pdoc I was diagnosed me with schizoaffective Disorder and told.me this. In 2008 at the psych hospital I had to ask what they had my diagnosis as and they said paranoid schizophrenia. I think the original diagnosis is the correct one.

I’ve said this many times on this site but I was first diagnosed on a psych ward with Major Depression, recurrent and severe. My next diagnosis was Bipolar 1. My last diagnosis was Schizoaffective, bipolar type and that was 26 years ago.

Meds really never helped me much and more likely made me worse. I think i could have maybe benefit from counseling or groups, but they wernt readilly offered to me much. Usually only pills.

You could ask for or look into counseling yourself now.

Yeah I need to still, but its hard for me to get around unless its on the bus route. Some of the ones they recommend are in another city.
