I’m in agreement with Wave. In my old age I am suspicious of academia. Give me someone who can fix my boiler anyday.

I agree with @Wave and @Gollum

THere are so many people with academic knowledge. BUt its nothing if you don’t know how to apply it practically. It does you no good if you cant apply it in your life.

Academics is great but practical application is everything, IMO.

I’m the most disorganized, impractical, unintelligent person I know.

Whoops I accidentally wiped my post when trying to edit. I agreed with @Wave and @Gollum .

I had meant to say that academics without practically does you little good.

Academics is great, but if you cant apply academics in some way or form, its of little good with practical application.

So practicality gets my vote.

When I was younger, I was academic and artistic. Now, I’m neither and none of the above.

Definitely not practical. My brain is a high class orchestra conducted by a crap conductor. If that had ever been recognised, and suitable help given, I’d have been a lot better than average academically.

Weird. my post reappeared. I had edited and it showed up blank and now its there.

Whatever. I guess the forum gods have spoken.

We are giving you a second chance to repent.

I feel you. I used to be pretty creative, but now it seems that energy went into the illness and not anything productive.

I’m college educated and pretty practical, but I learned a lot from my time in addiction and hanging out in bad areas when I was a kid.

Other than being a good writer I’m not really artistic or creative.

@Squanchy If you’re a good writer, that means you’re both artistic and creative.
