What is your opinion?
I hope you will succeed in the near future. Would you target for mobile platform (e.g. Android and iOS)?
some people are more savvy than others in computers. steve jobs who was my old boss, was scz, and look how talented he was xxx
its like i told my kids, you are not thick, you might be more academic at one subject more than what your brothers n sisters are. for example: oldest child is more savvy at problem solving, middle child is more savvy at organising and maths (i always thought he would be a general!! in the army or something) youngest child is more savvy at computer games, the bios of the computer etc and all the tech stuff.
so nobody is illiterate at tech i think we are a bit scared of pressing a button and it going wrong!! lol xx
Where did you get this from? I Googled it and it doesn’t seem to be true.
I worked for a dot com years back that wanted me to learn programming. It’s not my bag. I’m good with SQL queries and scripting tasks on a server, but that’s my limit.
Anybody succeed at learning Javascript? Any good books?
I am not sure whether they are encouraged to do programming, but a lot of day centres have groups to do with using a computer.
On the odd occasion something has needed programming skills I have been completely bamboozled . That’s very much been the case with genealogy dna and DIY autosomal calculators. I can’t make heads or tails of the process so have to get someone else to work out my results for me.
A while ago, I had 2 mental health professionals hinting maybe I could do computer programming. One person actually said to me during appointment: “unconscious, formulate, Microsoft”. Exactly what she said to me. I suppose hinting maybe my logical sort of thinking could be ideal for something technical like programming.
Another mental health professional told me or thought I could try the field of Computer Science.
Unfortunately, though, it’s not really doable for schizophrenic like me. The doctor who actually mentioned Computer Science diagnosed me with Psychotic Disorder, NOS. Computer Science, would be great, but never mind in my case.
Before these appointments, however, back when I was in University, I actually already tried to major in Computer Science. I only could get past the freshman year. The sophomore year incomprehensible to me.
When it comes to learning/applying real world job/occupational skills, it’s almost impossible for the “Deficit Schizophrenic”. The subtype that is below 1% of the population, not the estimated 1% of the population.
However, I do believe that the general 1% of the population (they typically estimate the amount of people who have Schizophrenia) could viably pursue a technical career in programming/engineering type of field.
@anon9798425 not everything on google is added by people, like wiki. wiki is just what is put up by different people who get notes n stuff from books or from hearsay etc. it is recent years of knowledge that steve jobs was scz
i do think its in his biography x but i know that he had it x
I really think that if this was a known fact about Steve Jobs then it would be all over Google and Wikipedia. That’s just common sense. People would talk about it.
Steve jobs didn’t have schizophrenia.
yeh coding is a job a person with sz can do.
i’ve written several apps.
the one thing i like most about my work?
no bugs… i guess i’m obsessive about it working right.
It’s really boring and monotonous imo
i’ve been programming since about the age of 10, started with basic
i find it kind of thrilling… when the code works exactly as you wanted it to - it gives you a buzz.
i think it’s like filling in a crossword puzzle, when you solve it you get a feeling of satisfaction.
maybe i’m just a boring fart
Nah, you’re an interesting nerd
