Aps and muscle gain

I read a few threads on this topic but I’m wondering do dopamine agonist antipsychotics prevent people from gaining muscle mass?

No. Dopamine does not play a role in this respect. Testosterone does. Also hypertrofied muscles like lots of proteins to feed them after a hypertrophy routine. I myself have a muscle hypertrophy routine which helps me with my hunger and good food intake regime. I don’t go to the gym. I practice alone with a couple of 10 pounds holdable in the hands dumbells. I do byceps, deltoids. Pectorallis I do push ups. Also do tryceps by menas of push ups also. With the weights I also strengthen the muscles on the basis of the back.

Awesome to hear that. I thought I was doomed in that regard. I also workout at home. I’ve got a bench press, hoping to get a squat rack soon too.

Haven’t for me. In fact, four years into antipsychotic medication, and I’m stronger than I’ve ever been. Not all the weight that I gained on antipsychotics were bad; I gained a lot of muscle mass, too. I’ve been on a streak lately of setting new personal records in the weight room. I have finally pushed past this plateau I have had for a number of years now.

In short, antipsychotics haven’t prevented me from gaining muscle mass.

That is good to hear from your personal experience. I want to get into gaining mass but wasn’t sure if it would be futile.
