Anyone work and go to school on meds?

I am SO tired from meds and hypothyroid, I don’t know if I can even get through school and study let alone get in the 500 Hospital volunteer hours I have to do to apply for the DMS program. Anyone successfully working and going to college on meds? Is it hella hard?

I went to college for three years successfully
I achieved Brecht business level 2and 3 to distinction
I passed first year of management degree then the stress and symptoms became too much
I have had a break and hope to go back to college September 2017 and my mental health might be improved
I want to study computers

Wow, that’s very impressive. I wish you the best when you go back to school in Sep. Did you also work when you were a student?

No I unable to handle paid work
I got support at college from mentors

I just finished my first quarter of college and I am going into my second quarter on Jan 3rd. I have slightly less than 4 years to go before I can, hopefully, get a good job and get off of Social Security. I hope your schooling goes well for you in Sep. At least you have got a lot under your belt already.

Yes I hope to eventually get good job
Good luck to you also

Been working full-time for two decades on meds. Was an I.T. analyst. Technical writer. Owned a computer shop. Ran (and still run) a photography studio and DJ biz. Did some part-time school bus driving for a while. Spent the last 15 months driving a fuel truck and doing bulk fuel delivery. Currently starting a new job in commercial insurance, which involves a lot of studying and passing exams. A lot of studying.

It’s possible, but there are days where you feel like you are trying to race your sailboat in the Master’s Cup while bailing the damn thing out at the same time. All of the other choices are less palatable to me, so I just ‘keep buggering on’ as Churchill said.

I work, but I don’t study and I’m on meds.

I wouldn’t be able to do it without meds. I only work part time, three days per week. In an office.

I go to school on meds. It isn’t too bad, no accommodations required. I am out of town right now preparing for my FAA exam to be a powerplant mechanic. I am going to take the written on Tuesday and take the oral and practical on the 10th.

It’s a tough set of tests, will know then if school paid off. Still one more semester to go for my Airframes rating.
