Anyone try Vraylar

Took Vraylar for the first time last night, I don’t think it helped. Does any take Vraylar?

I take it. It can take many weeks until you get the full benefit from it…doesn’t work overnight. Hopefully it will help you.

I took it a month or so ago. It helped me, but it also hurt me, and in unexpected ways.

Vraylar is my miracle drug and the only one that helps with ALL symptoms and doesn’t give me side effects or dull my creativity. It takes about 2 weeks for it to reach a steady level in your blood.

Ya and I love it. Helps with mood and negs.

If for some reason my current meds fail (saphris, rexulti) I will ask for vraylar

Actually Rexulti works almost exactly the same way as Vraylar. (D2/D3 partial agonist, whereas Vraylar is D3 preferring partial agonist)

But some researchers believe those D3 receptors is really where you gotta hit to help the negatives.

I take a small dose of Vraylar in conjunction with my main med, latuda. Vraylar helps take the edge off a little bit, helps with positive symptoms, and helps with depression. At least in my case

It gave me spasms and eventually had to stop taking it.

All I know about vraylar is that it is an atypical antipsychotic like aripiprazole which is what I’m on. If aripiprazole fails I may chose vraylar or Rexulti if they are insignificantly anticholinergic.

Vraylar sent me to the psych ward.
5 weeks involuntary.

What happened? I was reading research about how the partial agonists can worsen psychosis at first in patients with dopamine supersensitivity, but then eventually reverses the supersensitivity. My psychosis got really bad when I started Vraylar, and then it got much better.

Vraylar improved my situation slowly over time. Now I only have occasional break through voices. I feel like less of a zombie than I felt like on Abilify but of course nothing is perfect.
