If you’ve tried all three of them, what are your experiences with each of them?
I have tried Olanzapine and latuda, and considering trying Abilify in the future. But I haven’t decided.

Olanzapine - Fat zombie
Abilify - No sleep and extreme anxiety
Latuda - Severe akathisia
Thanks for sharing your experiences!
I was on 5mg of Abilify for two days. I was up pacing in the middle of the night. It was hard to fall back asleep. I had to change medication.
abilify tired me and latuda made me restless
Akathisia? 1515
Abilify made me extremely anxious and olanzapine raised my blood glucose levels too much and also gave me hypothyroidism.
I never tried Latuda
Latuda worked well for my positive symptoms, but came with a ton of side effects.
I took it at night with food, and if I didn’t get to a bed within 20 minutes, I’d throw up and get sluggish.
Abilify was ok, didn’t help that much, but kept me somewhat stable until it didn’t.
Never tried Olanzapine.
Yes akathisia and sleeplessness.
I was going to try Latuda until my doctor told me that it can cause lots of anxiety in many people.
Yeah Latuda gives me anxiety at night, I’m going off it.
Olanzapine was really good medication for me apart from 30 kg weight gain.
I slept well on it and it was calming .
I only came off it to lose weight.
Abilify I was on a week or two and it gave me anxiety and restlessness and was activating so to say so I stopped taking it.
Latuda is what I’m on now.
It’s good and I’m pretty stable but I put on a little weight (only ten kg).
I get anxiety after I take it with dinner and it gives me bad insomnia.
I lay awake all night restless and anxious.
I’m good in the morning and middle of the day but after I’ve taken my medication it’s bad.
I don’t want the weight gain with olanzapine but prefer the calming effects and that I could sleep at night for all night.
If it wasn’t for the weight gain i would go on olanzapine so I could sleep well but I’m staying on latuda I think.
I may get sleeping tablets and anxiety tablets to help with the side effects of latuda.
I’m not delusional and have no voices etc so that’s great.
I took Zyprexa, only briefly. I don’t remember what it was like.
Abilify didn’t do anything to help AND immediately caused weight gain. Same thing happened to my mom. She was on Abilify for a few years and went from like 140 lbs to around 250 lbs. She’s now back down to around 140 lbs, as she takes a different med now.
I am currently taking Latuda, but I have to also take Seroquel and Lithium Carbonate. It’s a pretty good combo. I have some weight gain, all around my waist, but I think that’s from the Seroquel and not the Latuda.
I’m on Abilify and it’s good for me I like it
I have tried all three, 8yrs on Abilify, 1yr on Zyprexa and 1yr on Latuda. They had bad side effects and didn’t work well though was never hospitalized while on them. Now I am on 5mg risperidone and its been the best, no side effects and no positive symptoms at all. My only issue now is bad negative symptoms/low energy but I think those are mainly from the illness.
Yeah, tried all three.
Olanzapine - Fat, tired, lazy, cholesterol, diabetes
Abilify - Did nothing. No side effects either.
Lurasidone - The best I ever tried.
Olanzapine: extra drowsy, weight gain, didn’t fully work
Abilify: worsening of depression symptoms, didn’t fully work
I’ve never tried Latuda, but i don’t have to as what i’m on works well.
Geodon made me worse. Zyprexa works well I think but had psychotic break shortly after taking it cause street drugs I was on. I had an insane reaction to abilify. the whole world seemed insanely angry. I recently switched to an old med and am doing a lot better than I was on the newer ones.
Zyprexa triggered DKA and pactreatic attack. I was in the ICU hospital for twelve days recovering. I was only on it a month. It was horrible. Latuda was okay, but did nothing for me. I’m supposed to be put on abilify soon, because the geodon alone isn’t helping.
Good luck with Abilify @anon55031185
