I am thinking my doc is reducing it too fast. 600mg to 400mg for two weeks. Then 300mg after that
When I switched from seroquel to abilify I think I tapered off seroquel over 3 months. That’s all I can remember.
It took eight weeks to come off seroquel
Seroquel was a terrible drug for me
My dr had me go off it quickly while adding a different AP and increasing the dosage of the new med.
is Seroquel quetiapine?..
Yeah same thing
Are you switching meds, reducing it, or quitting meds?
When I last quit Seroquel, I did it in hospital and over two or three weeks. From 800 mg to 0. When I last tried quitting it outside of hospital, I went down 100 mg every two weeks until I got symptoms again.
If you’re in hospital right now or are replacing it with a different med, it probably isn’t too quick. If you’re attempting to quit APs entirely or reduce your dose, it does sound a bit too quick.
Thanks for the thurough reply. Yes am reducing seroquel whilst increasing my depot so cross titrating.
I actually took a procyclidine an hour and a half ago and feel a lot better now so maybe some of my problems are from my depixol depot
I came off 800mg seorquel in about a month by myself. I wouldn’t recommend it though. I got bad withdrawals. I’m on another antipsychotic now.
Yeah it took me forever to wean off of seroquel. If I went too fast I got horrific insomnia. I went down half a pill at a time over some time to avoid it. I went from 50 mg to 25 mg for like a month, then half of that for like a week and then I think I even did half of a half for a week and then quit.
