Anyone stick their head forwards a lot?

I might be getting a problem here.

whenever i’m not thinking about it my neck tenses and my head goes forward/

maybe i just can’t relax this evening… but i had it when i was on seroquel and i’m now on clopixol - both typicals

is this common? it’s not a fixed posture where it’s tense and won’t relax at all, it’s intermittent but i caught a picture of myself doing it and it’s quite extreme

when i was on stelazine and paranoid, my sister said she saw me from a bus and thought "what the frack is that?’

I just have no idea if it’s just because of computers

Yeah, I get that all the time. I call it a goose neck.

Yeah it’s probably called goose neck!

Do you use a trick like putting a hand on your face?

Mine seems a lot worse quite suddenly… but hearing ‘get that all the time’ is not great news meaning it might not go away…

Distressing isn’t it? does your neck hurt because of it?

have you tried giving up computers and phones and concentrating on your posture?

Do you sometimes clench your teeth badly?

anything else help?

I’ve forgotten are you on a typical?

You should tell your doctor about this. Could be a cervical dystonia.

I just read about them not wanting to diagnose it for 4 years - wonder if that is the norm

No, I had a cervical dystonia that lasted for a year, but it was diagnosed after 2 weeks.

what happened at your first appointment, and does this sound familiar what i’m saying?

The neurologist examined me and prescribed some meds. Sounds very familiar…

what’s the name of the meds they gave you?

Artane 20 mg…

do you still need to take it?

I took it for a year, and then I was cleared to come off it. Symptoms resolved.

thats really good to hear on line on you tube it looks fixed not back n forth trying to relax it - its not a huge cramping spasm

did it get in the way of you doing things?

I think seroquel is an atypical?

yes!

Stelazine i meant

I think I brought it on myself by writing while on my bed, lying prone. That stressed it. I take ziprexa. It is also stress related. Funny, but my neck feels better this morning, as if writing about it helped…lol.

Do you ever feel “overbearing” because of it. Because I do.

Hi
No, ugly old and frumpy

like a cloudy dog. lol The tension makes me tend to be overbearing.
