Might have to change meds again. Thinking about injections so I don’t have to worry about pills as much. Just curious to your experience
I didn’t like getting pricked so I stuck to pills. But in terms of effectiveness very similar.
I was on 300 mg injection.
I would also take a pill
Started off at 5 mg pill then 10 then 15 then 20 then back to 15.
So 25 mg (~10 mg injection 15 mg pill) was ideal for me. Until I took other meds now I’m down on it altogether. But that wasn’t till after I stopped the injection. Well the end of the month I might take extra pills in combo with the injection. My mom said I’d get psychotic the end of the month. So I’d take an extra 5 mg pill. Because not sure if it truly lasts 30 days for everybody. It was helpful though it kept me out of the hospital my whole time on it but it was still rough times in my life.
I’m on the Abilify injection, 400mg.
Its been great for my symptoms,
But I feel a bit over medicated at times.
I’ve gained about 8lbs in the three years I’ve been on it,
So I don’t think it makes you gain weight.
All in all, its a good drug, I think.
Do you notice any psychotic symptoms towards the end of the month? I could see myself getting symptoms and then refusing the injection
Yes,
They moved my injection from every four weeks to every three weeks.
I’m on Abilify Maintena 400. I don’t like injections, but my psychiatrist says injection is better. And he’s right. Injections are better. It hurts during 3 or 4 days after injection, but for me there’s no problem, because it’s a very good medication.
I’m on Abilify Maintena 400 also, every 3 weeks.
I’ve just noticed a shorter attention span…unable to watch full movies or read long text. Or perhaps I was always a bit like that…just a bit.
