Making a goal to make my own California roll. It’s just crab cucumber and avocado.
Watching tutorial. Hope I can start making it for the cheap
Just make sure you use the right kind of sticky rice.
The rice makes me anxious. I think that’s the hardest part.
I think sushi is way over priced.
But it’s a good healthy for my diet and I can’t afford it at the supermarket premade.
You can put all the ingredients in a bowl if you can’t roll it. Still yummy.
The last time i had sushi was over 10 years ago. I took my roomate at the time out to eat since that’s what she chose.
I remember it being super duper expensive for food that didn’t taste that good to me and kind of made me ill a bit.
I spent like 50 dollars for 2 people at a buffet, and this was well before the recent huge inflationary jumps, and went away hungry and dissatisfied.
I have not eaten it since.
I don’t think its for me.
I only eat two kinds. Maybe the raw fish made you sick. @Bowens
I love sushi but it’s expensive.
Yeah. Insanely expensive. Since I been making my own dog food.
I think I’m gonna expand to sushi. I need to figure out the rice
This is my sauce I make to go on the rice. It is quite good. My mom made this for me as I child and I have passed it on to my kids.
Put in pan:
3/4 c. brown sugar
1/3 c. soy sauce
1/2 c. rice wine vinegar
2 T water
2 T sesame oil
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
Dash or two of red pepper flakes
Pinch of powdered ginger or ginger paste
1 1/2 T. Cornstarch
Whisk all together until all cornstarch lumps disappear.
Whisk off and on while bringing to boil. Boil 1 minute. Cool and store.
Yes and yes. I love making my own. So much more affordable.
Wow that looks so complicated. I’m gonna use the least ingredients to start off.
i dont like sushi. dont like the taste of the green wrap or fish really haha
I’ll teach you…
Nono she was making two kinds.
I wanna try Himalayan salt.
。。。。hehehe
Make sure you get the short-grain glutinous white rice and steam it… that’s the best sushi rice IMO. I like sushi but don’t really eat it cuz it’s too expensive to buy and too messy to make!
