My Android TV box remote is wonky so I thought about installing my IPTV subscription into my Android Smart TV HiSense. I tried everything but nothing worked. Uploaded and downloaded the APK file using GDrive, put the APK on a USB key etc The TV never sees the APK file eventhough I tried all the filemanagers in the play store and enabled install from unknown sources.
@Headspark Any idea? I think the file managers I tried aren’t displaying APKs.
Maybe I should just buy a Fire Stick or a new Android TV box for like 30$. Mine is almost 10y old and only has Android 5. Now there is Android 12.
Just get a new one it will prob save you a headache
Usually theres an “Enable ADB Debugging for Developers”?
You can sideload the apps then off the USB port.
This is all Chinese to me. The only thing I understood was USB.
You mean connecting the TV to a computer and using ABD to install APKs?
You might be better off getting a firestick then, and google the tutorial. I suppose it depends on the model of your tv.
Yes thats what i meant. But never done it with a smart tv.
If your android has an STD your screwed
I’ve only installed APKs on android TV boxes, never on a TV but I found this on Google…
I just found out that the APK wasn’t fully transferred to the USB key. Now it works. Thanks!
Thats Good to hear. I did the neighbours and put kodi on hers, but my paranoia wont allow me to stream films like she does lol.
