Interested to see if there is anyone here in trial for it
SEP-363856 is my new hope. I think it could be a good medicine.
What’s so good about it and what is it?
Drugbank: “SEP-363856 was developed by Sunovion pharmaceuticals. An initial clinical study has shown this drug may be effective against both positive and negative symptoms of schizophrenia.Unlike other drugs used for this condition, SEP-363856 does not bind to the dopamine D2 receptors, but exerts actions on the trace amine–associated receptor 1 (TAAR1) and 5-hydroxytryptamine type 1A (5-HT1A).”
Wikipedia: " …agonist at the [trace amine-associated receptor 1] (TAAR1) and [serotonin-1A receptor] (5-HT1A) receptors. This mechanism of action is unique among available antipsychotics, which generally antagonize dopamine receptors (especially [dopamine receptor D2]"
Currently, it’s in the phase 3… I hope to hear some good news in the near future.
I hope it turns out better than caplyta did.
…from one research: "…Change in weight, lipids, glucose and prolactin was similar in SEP-363856 and placebo groups… "
I don’t have much hope for negative symptoms, maybe this and KarXT (Xanomeline).
Still looking for people in trial to share their experience
