I’m going back to school for physics and was wondering how related jobs, including scientists and other occupations are? Are they worth it? How’s the pay?
Not sure about the USA market atm, but the UK market is hit/miss for physics grads. The odds of getting into a physics jobs is very low unless it’s teaching.
Most physics grads in the UK have to do further studies like masters in engineering to do other jobs in related fields. Could be similar in the USA
Moved to school and work
I am getting closer to being a data scientist
Not sure if that counts!
I can deal with being a physics teacher. What about engineering? Can a physics degree get you into engineering?
I wasn’t a real scientist. A lab scientist. I could have been a real scientist. It’s interesting work. I think a real scientist would have more independence and a more interesting job. Laboratory Scientists make fairly good money. I’m sure real scientists make more.
No, here in the UK you’re expected to do masters in engineering to convert.
Apparently I can get a ln engineer job with a degree in physics here in MO. That’s a good thing.
