Anyone else microwave their eggs?

This is such a taboo in my family but I do it anyway, lol. I mix up two or three eggs in a microwave-friendly bowl, nuke them for about a minute, take them out and stir them again, then resume nuking them until they resemble something edible.

I’m probably going to have some microwaved eggs for breakfast, in fact. YOLO, as the kids once said.

My dad does it. I really hate it lol.

The one downside to this method is how hard to clean it can make bowls.

I’ve never microwaved eggs before, but as they say, “don’t knock it 'til you try it”.

Eggs are pretty wonderful though-- tons of different ways to eat them.

Just made myself an egg white omelet in a skillet with some sliced peppers, onions, a turkey slice, and ketchup.

My sister does this. I think they’re passsable as food, but nothing to write home about. I highly prefer stovetop or oven cooking to microwave with most things. I am that weirdo who cooks a frozen dinner in the oven for 45 minutes instead of microwaving it for 3.

I’d love to know if your dad’s method of preparation differs from mine, @StarCrazy, lol.

That sounds delicious, @Schztuna!

@Ninjastar I watch a guy on youtube whose schtick is reviewing frozen meals and he praises the oven method of preparation as being superior to the microwave one.

I bought a container for microwave eggs once. It didn’t work out !

I’m curious to try one of those containers because I have to soak the bowls I use practically the entire day to get the dried egg remnants off lol

I technically have a microwave AKA vegetable defroster. But that is generally all it is used for.

Yeah i microwave them when im doing scrambled eggs with a bit of double cream added.

But i usually just have 5 boiled eggs for breakfast off the hob - timed so the yolk is runny.

Lol @Ninjastar I chuckled at “vegetable defroster”

@Naarai adding cream sounds like a good idea! And I prefer my boiled eggs runny as well

Yeah its fattening and wont do your Cholestrol much good. But if your a skinny bloke like me - you need that to keep the weight on lol.

My Dad has this special container especially for the eggs.

That is my trick for roasted veggies. First, defrost them in the microwave. Next, coat them in oil and seasoned salt. Then bake them at 450 for 20 minutes. Thwy come out perfect every time.

I do scrambled egg in the microwave.

I love eggs in the wave via the Eggtastic Cooker. Perfect poached eggs. Yummy scrambled eggs after adding cheese, peppers, and salt then nuke for 2:30.

I do occasionally, but it goes completely against my chef’s training. I don’t even like cooking them on a stovetop, to be honest. Shirred eggs are one of my favourites.
