Anyone believe in the laws of attraction?

I do:) Feel free to post your thoughts on the subject and how you feel it impacts your life. Would love to get into a conversation about this:)

I think most of us are attracted by an image. We fall in love with a spirit. I’ve lived long enough, and I’ve seen enough bad relationships to be careful of getting into relationships. Nothing is a lot better than some I’ve heard about. One time I pursued this girl, and she rejected me. I remember thinking later - “I’m glad she rejected me. She would have driven me crazy.”

nope, it is an interesting idea though.

I know what you mean. I’ve been in a few relationships where I ended up being happy the guy broke up with me. Weird how that works out.
But I suppose I more so mean the power of positive thought and positive feelings leading to positive situations in ones life. I feel as though it’s affected me in various ways, but also feel as though connecting those positive feelings and thoughts is a long process. I notice the more positive I’ve become in life (with the help of my doctor and medication, but also hard work on my own part), the better life becomes and the better things get for me. I have a few examples but that would take up the whole board!!!

What are the “laws of attraction” ?

your projections are met with your expectations. If your good you get what you hope for. They try to make a science out of it. It’s bs.

It’s kind of like Karma. Kind of.

Generally partners want to operate in an environment of stability. So for that reason ithere is some accuracy in it. However there is still the spark where people just click. And there are relationships where there can be unhealthy dynamics at play wrought by personality and behavioural problems. I honestly dont think you can make up a rule for it.

I have a feeling it works for some people by virtue of self-fulfilling prophecy.

No matter which way you slice it, the power of the mind is astounding. On a kind of related topic, I’ve heard of a study recently that took scans of the human brain before and after a few weeks of meditation. There were some individuals brains that had more activity on what’s considered the more " negatively thinking side of the brain. After a few weeks of meditation, not only did the people report to feeling more positive but their brain scans showed more activity in what is associated with the positive thinking side of the brain. (Sorry, I don’t quite have the accurate terminology, but I could always look back at my notes and give a better description:).
But as far as beliefs are concerned, I’m of the thought " whatever works"!!!
I suppose I just like thinking (or knowing) that I have some sort of control in the matter of my mental health. Gives me hope.
