I want to go on an injection. I’m currently taking Abilify and Seroquel but lately I’ve been thinking about stopping cold turkey and this happens every month. I have stopped before suddenly many times but got back on. I feel like the injections could prevent this from happening. The problem is the last time I tried Abilify injection I fainted later on that day (for like 2 second I fell and got back up) Afterwards the effect felt equivalent to not taking anything at all so I had to go back on pills. Is it just not for me? Or could I find something that actually works?
Welcome back @Shimmy
I’ve never had this on the Invega injection.
Hmm I had weird reactions to injections as well, backed out of my last ability injection.
I’ve never fainted, but felt really weird on abilify injection. I got it twice and felt worse each time. It’s a scary feeling when you don’t react well then get stuck with it. Injections are weird idk, I liked too cus it forced me to take but finally got accustomed to just taking my pills
Same thing happened to me.
I used to have syncope when i was on Seroquel. Anytime i stood up too quickly i passed out. There are other injectables out there besides Abilify…i was on Abilify and Haldol LAIs when i was on court-ordered treatment and I’m glad I’m on pills now cuz it gives me more say over what goes into my body and their side effects.
I passed out on Stelazine, BOOM! down I went.
I collapsed on depixol depot. Fainted several times on risperidone. I feel like fainting more often when im unstable from cigarettes. Nicotine apperently increases the amount of antipsychotic. The fainting stopped when i was switched to haldol injections.
I fainted on 15mg Olanzapin and 5mg Haldol. Two times.
A few years ago I thought I fainted and I was taking Invega Sustenna injections at the time but I told one of my psychiatrists I blacked out and thought it was from the Invega and she said Invega doesn’t do that.
After 8 years paliperidone fainted and fell off my bike fracturing cheekbone one year ago.
