Any one else get sick/have some sort of crisis the same time every year?

For the last 5 years I had a major crisis or had gotten sick in September. Last September is when I first got sick. Anyone else experience anything like this?

When I lived in New York I would have seasonal affective disorder (SAD) starting about this time of year. This is also the beginning of flu season (get your flu shot).

EDIT: The holidays are also very stressful for many people.

Yeah man most march around that time I end up in the hospital

Well, people around me say I’m worst in the end of winter/beginning of spring, and best in the summer.

Christmas / December have traditionally been difficult times for me.

I don’t know if there is a specific time I get sick but my past 8 hospital stays were between Jan-June (summer/autumn). But this one my ninth is first one to be in second half of year.

Yes! For me it’s October. Year after year. It doesn’t seem to matter what I do, for example, meds, therapy, work, rest, I just can’t seem to escape it. Some years are worse than others but there’s always a down period from October to February.

Historically you can see I have lots of changes in October and February. Lot’s of jobs start and stop in those months. Lots of address changes and friendships end and lovers go by the wayside. It’s eerie.

And even though it’s not seasonal effective disorder I’ve read it’s not uncommon for Bipolar disorder to have a seasonal component. I also have PTSD and that can have a seasonal aspect as well. Last year I used a full spectrum light at my computer a little each day and surprisingly that helped a little.

But it’s hard knowing it’s coming and feeling a little helpless to it.

I always have trouble in the spring. I get manic from the better weather.

In the winter, I used to have trouble with depression. Then I got a full spectrum bulb, and started sitting under it for an hour a day. It made a huge difference. I love lamp!

I have SAD, so I always get the blues during wintertime.

They sell fairly cheap ones at Lowe’s, if there is one near you. Mine is for hydroponic plants, not therapy, but it works just as well. It was only like $25.

I used to buy them for my iguana before he died.
