don’t be the one to tell me you’re leaving - leaving - leaving
just go without speaking a word
Coz i don’t think i could bear the feeling
coz i know it would end my world
don’t be the one to tell me you’re leaving - leaving - leaving
just go without speaking a word
not complete, now that we’re through
i have so much fear speaking the truth
i thought we lived outside of time
a permanent meeting on waves of salt
the two of us
holding a mirror up to the sky
don’t be the one to tell me you’re leaving - leaving - leaving
just go without speaking a word
you cut a hole in the floor of the boat
now we are both in this but sinking
don’t be the one to tell me you’re leaving - leaving - leaving
just go without speaking a word
the clouds were unformed
thought we’d never break our ties
Don’t be the one to tell me the skies are darkening
Thought we’d never break our ties
Thought we’d never break our ties
Thought we’d never break our ties
In the morning
And in the night
In the emptiness
I wait for the light
I love you when I wake up
Whether, you’re here with me
In the night when it’s quiet
I want you in the silence
Went down to the beach
The other day
Talked to you
Among the waves
You’re in my dreams
You touch my hair
I feel your breath
You fill the air
Don’t - leave - fill - me
Don’t - leave - fill - me
Don’t - think - feel
Don’t - think - feel
Went down to the beach
The other day
Talked to you
Among the waves
Don’t - leave - feel
Don’t - leave - feel
You take me out for a meal at the shoreline
The sea crashes just below us
You buy me something vegan and i only eat 3/4 of it
We talked about whatever’s going on for me
You say i’m the only one you can talk to
Both of us only need one best friend
I want nothing else - all i want is you
You’re in my dreams
You touch my hair
I feel your breath
You fill the air
I’ve got a couple of others but they’re more personal - just to my husband though they’re on soundcloud
This is my first time putting things to paper that could ever be for ‘the great unwashed’
My mental health workers said I could make a living out of my story, but they don’t know how bad it is, no one would enjoy reading it. I’m open about everything to them, I’m not hiding anything, I don’t find it necessary to be that honest.
@Jinx there are different things you can do to dramatise things
i’ve written a couple of very serious events / delusions into monologues which have been on stage
it’s not a precursor to non-success only having serious things to say
I write lyrics to a beat then translate it to a melody when I record/perform. I have melody in mind when writing the lyrics. But it’s most about the lyrics. If the beat is good enough. And lyrics meaningful enough. You can make it work.
Sometimes good to write Melodie’s although, you still gotta keep the lyrics in mind.
do you have any input of how I can progress from just writing lyrics? I have no idea about music… don’t think I could ever write an entire song
what I do now is find an instrumental and write to it @Jonnybegood
(I’m not finished with these lyrics they’re just some ideas)
Play the beat while you’re writing. And help it inspire your lyrics. It’s a lot in the counting. The bpm or beats per minute. Iambic pentameter is key to most modern music. Look up that term. It doesn’t have to be perfect like you don’t have to write a bridge when a bridge comes in the beat every time…. But just usually I have to replay a beat 3x at least consecutively to come up with enough lyrics for it. Look up free beats (your genre) on YouTube. I wrote a rock n roll song lately inspired by a rock beat. Hope that helps a little
i’m not musically minded at all
i wonder if collaborating with anyone would be my next move but i can’t do that without a body of work @Jonnybegood
i’ve recorded 3 songs but they’re lyrics so far with a pre recorded hook
Your lyrics are pretty nice. I’ve been getting back into writing myself. Haven’t started making melodies quite yet cause my keyboard are in storage. But I wrote some lyrics about hiking spots in Washington state:
My Tenerife is where I had to call search and rescue be careful of the cold because it will definitely test you
I once took a jaunt by mt forgotten see
Didn’t go to far because of my autoimmune disease
My most popular haunt is definitely tiger mountain
Been so many times that I stopped counting
And can’t forget about mason lake packed a bunch of bagels then I ate some grapes
Hoh river makes me shiver, at least in winter
Hannegan pass kicked my ass had a stranger take a photo that would last
Reflection lake near paradise they said this place is very nice
