I took up programming six years ago, left it, then found it again and am taking a Java course. If anyone wants to keep in touch and help each other with code pm me.
I’m learning how to program. I want to be a programmer some day.
Nice, what languages are you starting with?
Python right now. I’ve messed with R before. I tried learning a bit of html, css but I forgot most of it. I was doing freecodecamp. I’ve done some stuff with codecademy too. Right now I’m taking intro to cs from edx/mitx. If my condition keeps on improving, I might sign up for udacity’s nanodegree. I also might take c++ or java at my local community college. The longest program I’ve written had about 200 lines. Right now, I’m writing programs 50-100 lines long.
For udacity’s program, I’m thinking of doing Android or Front-End some day.
I would recommend thenewboston’s YouTube tutorials to start out. I believe he has a Python series, maybe even a few.
I plan on building iOS and Android apps one day.
Also, taking C++ or Java at your community college is a good idea. I’m doing it with Java.
They say programmer jobs are for the youths (before 30).
I learned C, C++, and java in college. Taught myself vba and used it on and off in my job as an accountant. I also learned autohotkey which I find amazing for playing video games with. I’m happy to help with anything I can. Best resource is the internet though.
I kind of wish there was a Python class at my community college, but there isn’t. I would have started with that instead of Java.
I haven’t studied Java yet. sorry bud. I’ve spent more than half a year studying C++ and data structures. now i’m studying discrete math.
I was trying to download Android Studio but the file is 2GB big. I gave up downloading it. Plus, it is Java, I am not familiar with Java.
I am thinking of doing programming again.
I have used autohotkey to automate the crafting grind in a couple of games.
What games?1515
FFXIV and SWGemu
I’m a software developer and I work for a good company. I develop .NET and .NET MVC web sites. We also use Sitecore.
Thanks to some irresponsibility on my part, I finished my Java I course with a C. I got so tired with work every day that I would put off the assignments until a day or so before they were due and that didn’t give me enough time to debug my code. I know I could have done better and from now on I’m amping up my game.
I use codingbat.com a lot to practice my logic.
i am back into development… gonna try Java II again at my college.
who else likes to code?
I do it but not sure if I ‘like’ it, it’s work to me a chore
Maybe if i was being paid good money for it, it might be different
IVe spent 3 hours trying to get Golang to work with Sublime and have realized i probably did something wrong in terminal that can’t be undone, so im reinstalling my entire OS so I can get this damn thing to work.
