Any creative people go on creative binges, then aren't inspired for a while

I’m trying, I’m trying but nothing comes out. I went on a binge last week. Now I try to write stuff and it just doesn’t come so easy…Not like I’m in a rush but a little bit frustrating! I wonder when my inspiration will return.

What is creative binges?

Like having a lot of creative inspiration in a short amount of time and doing a lot of creative stuff. And then not doing anything creative for a while after that.

Like a binge drinker is someone who drinks a lot in one weekend, then doesn’t drink for a month after that.

Sometimes i try to draw or play video games uninspired. Just doing stuff badly . Playing with it . Doing for fun . Doesnt metter the quality better quantity

It’s more fun when its good but I agree its still worth it to do when its bad

Try to write then do something else… you can write for therapeutic reasons doesnt need to do very good

i have topics. and every time i write something, i randomly go through the list of topics. i refresh the list, each month.

then there are readings that inspire me.

and then there is sharing my work, which produces my greatest inspiration.

but also, you don’t need to produce your best, if you don’t want to. sometimes, you can produce art, just for your sake (like re-visiting memories.)

and maybe you don’t have to produce art all the time. for example, i used to produce something every day. but that schedule took a lot of my day away, and sometimes i just didn’t have anything worth writing or didn’t have an idea. as a result, i felt that my art was poor. so i started producing art every 2 days, and i felt that i was giving myself decent time to produce better art.

recently, i rearranged so that i have 3 days to create my work, as well as observe other famous works and contemporary works.

Yeah. I haven’t finished a track in probably 9 months.

I used to find meditating helped me be more artistic, sometimes I would see colorful patterns and paint them.

goyankees I enjoyed your recording. I only craft, draw, write, play guitar and sing when I’m manic (or hypo manic) I’ve gone years with no creative inspiration. I feel a sense of loss, as do my fans (family & frens). Sometimes I try but nothing happens. It makes me sad and tempts me to go off my meds.
