My son collects things. Used to be toys related to things he liked and now it’s quarters. My sister collects pig pictures, figurines, etc. I think you have to collect things that you find pretty or interesting but it doesn’t matter what it is.
Vintage and unusual film cameras. I’m trying to pare the collection down some. Also used to collect darkroom equipment, but gifted that to some historical museums as I’m never using a darkroom again.

I found an uncensored copy of “Sons and Lovers” by D.H. Lawrence on sale for a dollar at the library. It was in perfect condition, and I thought I had hit the mother lode, but it turned out to be worthless as a collector’s item. When they first started to publish this edition of “Sons and Lovers” they produced 16,000 copies. I still have the book, though.
My coin collection got lost during a move.
I collect old PC hardware, I still have a working 2006 PC. I had a 5.25" hard drive somewhere, its so huge that it didn’t fit my 2006 PC case.

I have a Tiny version of Win XP, 78mb installation disc.
I used to collect salt and pepper shakers when I was a kid. Now I collect stuff that I will eventually rid myself of.

I collect playing cards, there are so many unique designs and styles to something that was traditionally plain. Also cardistry is amazing.
I have access to the museum in Drumheller, AB, Canada. Let me know if there’s anything you ever need from there.
I collect cameras, books, graphic novels, and CD’s.
I haven’t bought a CD in a longtime though, but I own quite a bit.
Good thread.
I used to collect cards, like Pokemon and Magic: The Gathering, but it’s a semi-expensive hobby, and not many people my age wants to play.
I didn’t collect them just to have them, I wanted to put together nice decks and battle people.
I have a collection of fountain pens. For a year or two I loved them and nothing made me happier than getting a new pen. Then, suddenly, my interest abated and I have not even opened the case I keep them in for many months. I don’t understand why I lost interest. For a while I was intrigued by mechanical pencils and I still like and use those.
I really dig coffee mugs
