Nothing against gaming, but I been playing since I was born and are currently very addicted to gaming.Anyone who used to play lots of game and successfully quit playing? How did you do it?
I used to wake up in the night to play runescape, and was hooked on call of duty and weed. My playstation got stolen out of my house then I grew out of it and started making music on the computer, now I game once in a blue moon when I am with friends. So my advice would be look for something else to fill up our time. One of my friends who was in the top of league of legends (no-lifing all day), started to study for front end dev and now he barely games anymore. So my advice would be start programming or do music since it worked for me, and gives you that sense of accomplishment that’s also in games. But could be another activity for you.
Hey there…great story of you and your friend.I really don’t know how to start, the first thing when I wake up is gaming and the last thing too.I am frustrated because gaming is not really that harmful but it’s still harmful enough to waste a lot of time and become inproductive
I had forgotten about my gaming addictions.
Could you get a job/work more hours?
Yea,even when I am working I think about gaming,it’s a habit that stuck to me.When I work,I couldn’t game but I think about it sometimes
When I was healthy I quit gaming to do more productive things that I enjoyed too like studying philosophy or theology.
When I got sick I came back to gaming because I wasn’t able to study anymore and also couldn’t leave my home so it was the only thing I could do then a few months ago I started to have anhedonia and lost all interest in gaming.
Personally I’m happy with it because my life is more productive and I don’t feel the urge to game anymore.
I used to love gaming, but I think I grew out of it/lost interest. I have an Xbox One X, but I never play it anymore
This isn’t a very active sub, but you could scroll through and see how people handle similar issues with gaming.
I see other people playing game but personally I really like to stop.My plan was stop gaming but I can watch series,YouTube or reading
I am sub to stop gaming but I cannot kick start.Starting to stop is the most difficult part I need…
Yeah. I’ve had tons of addictions. It’s always ‘the first step is the hardest one.’
Hoping things work out.

I used to play and love games a lot but since I take these meds I have lost interest and now I barely play
I used to be addicted to Eve Online. I played full days. I think it was my job that eventually got me out of it. I worked so many hours that I didn’t feel like playing anymore.
I’ve heard of an entrepreneur who was formerly into gaming switch gears and take enjoyment from running a business instead. He tried to do both but it’s like serving two masters. Can’t happen if you want to be world class at either.
Do what makes you happy. If gaming doesnt make you happy then stop it.
I enjoy gaming but it makes me feeling bad
I know how you feel, losing in the game sucks, whether it be AI or other human players that are better than you
I wish I knew what to tell you.
I binged a little sometimes on video games but was never addicted.
I guess because now I am unemployed or taking paid leave because of covid 19.I stay in the room for the whole day,i play game and switch between them.It took probably 70% of my time awake
Yeah, this covid thing can be bad for a lot of people.
Are you ok to walk around a little with a mask on?
Maybe it would help.
My bank was closed today.
Probably covid. But at least I could deposit my check in the ATM.
