I’m thinking gabapentin. Currently on klonopin, which works, but only in higher doses since I started Abilify. I need something that will consistently control my anxiety without having to take more and more of it.
I asked my pdoc for Xanax, he said no you have to learn to manage your anxiety w/out medication. So I started smoking just enough to get a contact high, it worked but I wouldn’t recommend it. I also did yoga meditation and breathing exercises. It was really hard in public but I just tried to throw my mind in a calm state. I don’t know how to put it into words but with practice and patience and perserverence you can overcome most of it
I had years of untreated anxiety. Now, my anxiety is usually caused by paranoia so I up my AP to reduce it. I have a Rx for Vistaril but I rarely take it. It makes me tired (along with everything else I take)
There are many meds out there for quick relief but you should learn to see things differently and cope with anxiety, meds for quick relief which I tested are ; 1. Clozapine 2.carbamazepine 3. Quetiapine 4. Propranolol 5.anti histamines 6. Haloperidol 7. Benzos. 7.pregabalin
The Right AP is the best I know for anxiety, in my case clozapine.
I’m tapering off quetiapine, and I did find it helped with the anxiety, but the side effects were too much. Is pregabalin better than gabapentin? I mean, if you haven’t taken it, was there a reason you were placed on it instead of gabapentin?
Pregabalin is far more strong than gabapentin, it makes you happy and best for them who have pain in their bodies, the only problem for me was that I used it in doses higher than the highest doses allowed and it caused me to not feel my body and pain, I remember I was lifting very heavy weights in gym because of that.
I contacted my doctor’s office today about my anxiety. I didn’t request any specific medication, so I don’t know what, if anything, she’ll do for me when she gets back to me this evening. Next time I see her, I’d still like to discuss switching from klonopin to perhaps pregabalin.
My pdoc recommended clozapine to me but i’ve been on it before. the side effects were too bad for me to stay on it. and i hate getting my blood tested.
