It’s hard not to go into politics, but It is also hard to ignore what we are doing to our planet. We have disconnected so much from reality and nature that we are destroying our home. This is a serious problem and as long as we pretend it doesn’t exist, it will keep getting worse. I try not to worry about anything, but I think we really should start to be concerned about this. I feel this sense of impending doom and I feel like we have to do something or else there won’t be a future for our species. Anybody else feel this way?
Yes but I tell myself, if I’m too lazy to do more, how can I expect others to be more environmentally active? So I guess we have to start with ourselves. It’s been ages since I last planted a tree. I remember it like it was yesterday - a fir tree, which has grown nicely since. I try at least to be careful with my garbage, not mix biodegradable with plastic or glass. But I should be doing more. Plant trees, start a blog to increase climate change awareness, eat less, go to bed earlier (shut down computer and light bulbs) etc etc… sorry mother earth.
“The planet is fine. The people are f_cked.” – George Carlin
As much as I respect Carlin and enjoy his shows, he lost me at “maybe the planet wanted more plastic so it’s using humans toward that purpose”
A lot of comedians think he was too dark and pessimistic - but I believe he loved life.
And just really honest take on humans.
Yes, a lot of people feel this way.
This is worth taking the time to read:
Terence McKenna said the difference between the west and the east is the west is always trying to maximize energy while the east is trying to understand time. I thought of writing a book about a world where there are two dominating cultures. One is the seers, mystics and clockmakers. A culture concerned with the time and the other is all about energy. And put my spin on it lol.
All good things come to an end
What will be will be
If a meteorite came down and wiped us all out what could we do
Human beings don’t have much power there is something out there more powerful than us
I used to be involved in environmental causes for a few years. During that time I waxed philosophical on the green identity and made a connexion between naive realism, and naive meaning green. I thought that environmentalists were more direct realists because they were more in touch with reality. However reality is a tricky subject and both environmentalists and lets say modern capitalists are both in a reality and detached from reality at the same time. This is not black and white it occurs on people in varying degrees. As time went on I started to view indirect reality/ irrationalism etc as schizophrenic and direct reality as normal/ sane etc. However, these dont divide up that way: capitalism as pomos say is schizophrenic paving the way for its destruction and sane/normal in the many social norms of modern industrial hypercapitalist society. Environmentalism is the opposite: schizo in akternative norms as schizos have schizo things they do, and sane normal in being connected to reality of the world
Dont worry, its going just as it should and the planet will wipe us out as a species long before we are able to ■■■■ it up completely.
WAAAAAY too depressing
Yes, its terrible. The increase of 1.5 degrees in inevitable already. Natural catastrophes will increase like floods, heatwaves. Its difficult to block all the worlds troubles out and not getting too depressed about it. I love to think positive and save energy, get second hand stuff instead of new products from the factory. I am happy i found a way out of this doom and gloom about the planet. Even my psychiatrist told me i am too young to think about dying. Since i started to exercise more frequently my spirit has positively changed.
The biggest thing we can do for the environment as a individual is to stop eating animals.
I’m vegan for the animals and environment.
Watch seaspiracy, cowspiracy, milked , earthlings, forks over knives, what the health.game changers
Some are free on YouTube some on Netflix
Read so why become vegan by Sandra kimler.
I met her.she’s beautiful.
I have beautiful blood works and no deficiency.
You need to supplement with b12 atleast though.
I like this planet and i want it to keep going cause the earth is like our home and we try and look after where we stay but sometimes the rubbish builds up and things get dirty so its all about getting things cleaned up and making things good again. Electric vehicle are a good thing i think if we can get energy from the sun and hydro etc then we can run cars with less less harm to the environment and technology has stopped mass paper production a bit. i cn see improvements everywhere but there is loads more to do its not a quick fix.
there was a time when men lived in harmony with nature and that must have been a amazing. i think if you can give more back to the earth than you take then you are doing good.
For every bottle recycled theres a big black bag full of junk beside it.
